About Maine Traditions

Maine Traditions is owned and operated by WW Flooring Group, a joint venture between Kennebec Lumber of Maine and Premier Lumber of New York.  Kennebec Lumber and Premier Lumber  came together in 2018 to form a company that produces only the highest quality of hardwood flooring products, finished to perfection.  It is the goal of WW Flooring group to ensure the highest possible performance for Maine Traditions products.  Everything from the lumber harvesting, sawing, finishing, distribution, and beyond is designed for the best possible flooring experience for the buyers of Maine Traditions products.

The lumber for Maine Traditions products is harvested throughout the Northeastern United States, and milled in Premier and Kennebec locations in New York and Maine Respectively.  The product is finished in Syracuse, New York on the state-of-the-art WW Hardwood finish line which opened in 2019.  Only the most exacting standards for hardwood flooring are allowed for Maine Traditions. It is the quality of Maine Traditions and WW products that allows installers to use 100% of the box when installing Maine Traditions products, while other hardwood flooring manufacturers regularly indicate that up to 5% of hardwood in every box could be trash before a carton is even opened.

Expect natural character accompanied with some added stability because of the sawing method employed. Rangeley Live Sawn comes in exclusively a 5".

More on Rangeley Live Sawn

Rather than repeatedly turning logs in the sawmill to maximize yield, the rough lumber used to create the Rangeley Collection is parallel cut in the traditional “live-sawn” style used in past centuries. In simple terms, when we live-saw a log, we start at the top, and work our way down. This results in a natural mix of boards – plain sawn first, then rift sawn, and finally quarter sawn boards nearest the middle of the log.
